The Zombieverse

I’m Ed, an artist with a passion for pixel art and a fascination with the wild, evolving world of NFTs. Inspired by the way zombies have taken over pop culture — from movies and TV shows to video games and digital art — I wanted to bring my own vision of undead pixel art to the Base chain. After months of designs I felt confident on bringing non-derivative pixel art to the base community with Based Zombies — a mix of my love for art, culture, and the creative energy of web3.

Based Zombies

In September 2024, that vision became reality with the launch of Based Zombies, my very first collection on Base. I created 999 unique Based Zombies, each designed on a 65 x 65 pixel canvas, and the response blew me away. Launched via the Liberoverse Platform, and with the help of the legend Foogy, the collection became the first to have more opt-ins to mint than the total supply — a milestone I never expected but will always cherish. Since then, the collection has made over 14 Ethereum in volume on secondary sales as of February 2025, a testament to the community’s love and support.

But Based Zombies is more than numbers — it’s about culture and creativity, it's the OG collection of the Zombieverse. This portrait PFP collection captures humans as zombies, blending web3 culture with the undead in a way that feels both familiar and fresh If you are looking for unique pixel art and to support a growing pixel artist, the Zombies On Base ecosystem is for you.

The creativity didn’t stop there. Whispers began to circulate about the Based Zombies Artifacts — powerful relics said to hold the key to the next phase of their transformation. These artifacts would allow the Zombies to evolve, unlocking new forms and creative potential. Holding an OG Based Zombie means holding a ticket to evolution, to the ever-expanding ecosystem of art and culture we are building. It is a declaration of belief in the power of creativity on the Base chain.

The Based Zombies Artifacts was born as the second collection for the Zombies On Base project, bringing utility to Based Zombies OG collection. Essentially OG Based Zombies need to be burned for an Artifact to be born.

Zombie Punks marks the first drop in our Based Zombies Artifacts collection. In this release, we pay tribute to the iconic CryptoPunks by recreating the 88 original Zombie CryptoPunks in our own distinct Based Zombie style. Can you recognized some of them below?

Zombie Punks

The second drop of the Based Zombies Artifacts collection was the Zombified Superheroes. These are unique 1 of 1 pixel art pieces inspired by your favorite superheroes but in a zombified touch. Total 16 Zombie Heroes were created.

Our most recent drop was the Zombified Villains, where 10 unique art pieces took over the Zombieverse.

The Based Zombies Artifacts collection has permitted a 13% reduction of the Based Zombies OG collection, making a significant impact on the ecosystem.

Another important piece of the zombieverse is the "Liberoverse Zombie Pass", the same brings utility within the Liberoverse ecosystem. There are 333 Zombie Passes.

And so, the horde marches on — evolving, creating, and leaving their mark. The Zombieverse is just getting started, and those who dare to join will shape its destiny.
